Divergent

After much prompting and obsessive nagging from my friend to read Divergent, I am NOT disappointed.  It is another perfect YA book that will go down in history with the Hunger Games.  To start my review I have to praise the creativeness of the plot and setting of the book, a dystopian society spilt into five fractions that are based off what each sector believes it.  Candor are the honest, Abnegation are the selfless, Dauntless the brave, Amity the peaceful, and the Erudite the intelligent.  When they turn sixteen, the children of one fraction are given a test then choice what fraction they want to live in and maybe leave their family.  Beatrice (Tris) is forced to make this choice and mets some new friends and maybe even more on the way.  The book is eloquently written with tons of plot twists and a great theme and message.  I loved it so much, the suspense was great and the book was just amazing!!! 10 out of 10!! 11 out of 10! I loved it and can not wait for the next book.
(by the way, the movie of this book comes out in March of 2014!!!!)

Fearless Magic

Fearless Magic is the 3rd book in the Star-Crossed Series by Rachel Higginson.  The second book ended in a cliff hanger, so I was so excited to read this one.  The book is well written and like all the books in the series, has a great plot.  I have always been a fan of Jericho and Eden and not Kiran and Eden, so this book was enjoyable for me.  Still, Higginson makes me both love and hate Kiran, which is a quality that makes the book so good.  I also like the drama and suspense throughout the series especially for the search and rescue of Avalon.  My only negative comment about the book is that in some parts it drags before the major climaxes.  Otherwise I thought it was a great book with a drama filled ending, I was heartbroken at the end.  And it was great to watch Eden grow and mature throughout the book.  So my rating is an 8 out of 10!

Both the best and worst

The worst feeling is giving away a great book.
And the best feeling is giving it to someone you know will love it.

Obsidian: Lux Series 1

A great way to start out a great series.  Daemon is infuriating, but still super hot.  Dee is a great best friend.  And Katy is just trying to survive in the world while two teenagers with a giant secret live next to her.  But when she is saved by her hot and annoying neighbor, she must learn to keep this secret, even if it threatens her life.  And now that she is basically a shining beacon for bad guys, she need to find a way to protect herself and her new alien friends (well, friend as in Dee and her annoying brother)  The chemistry between Daemon and Katy is sweet and infuriating, and the whole book has a great balance of love (kinda), humor, and adventure.  I loved it, the idea behind the book is one I haven't seen a lot.  I am used to werewolves, immortals, faeries, and vampires, not aliens.  I wasn't sure what I'd think of aliens, but I loved it.  9 out of 10.

Hopeless Magic

Hopeless Magic is the 2nd book in the Star-Crossed Series, and it continues to follow Eden and Kiran in their lives under a tyrannical king and their hidden love.  I have to say, the beginning of the book was a bit slow moving in my opinion and I lost interest a couple of times.  But as the book progressed it  caught my attention more and more.  By the end of the book, I couldn't put it down.  The characters are interesting and different in many ways, and the plot has many twists and turns.  My only compliant about the book is it became a little dry in the beginning.  My rating is 7 out of 10.
